Duncan Ferguson, who was appointed Director of ProGraphics for Epson
Europe in 2007, has been promoted to Epson Europe's senior management
team as Executive Director of Professional Printing & Robotics.
In his new role, he will continue to extend Epson’s portfolio of professional inkjet

Brexit headache for
Quinn
Mike Quinn has been appointed BNP
Paribas Leasing Solutions' new Head
of Risk. In this role, he will oversee
the company's two key divisions:
Technology Solutions, which
provides leasing for IT, telecoms and
office equipment; and Equipment
and Logistics Solutions, specialising
in agricultural equipment,
construction, materials handling and
commercial vehicles.
Quinn said: “Risk control at BNP
Paribas Leasing Solutions is managed very
well. I’m looking forward to ensuring that
all the processes and tools continue to
operate correctly and effectively. One of
the key challenges will be managing the
fall-out from our decision to leave the EU.
However, I’m confident that we will be able

A group of seven Apogee employees are
preparing to swim the English Channel to raise
money for Global’s Make Some Noise charity,
which supports young people living with illness,
disability and lack of opportunity across the UK.
The seven will work as a relay team, each swimming
for one hour before handing over to a team mate,
then repeating the cycle until they reach France. At its
narrowest point, the English Channel is about 21 miles
across, but Channel swimmers have to swim much
further. Tides, currents, ships, weather conditions and
jellyfish make this one of the toughest open water swims.
Apogee Group Marketing Director and Channel
Swim team member Gary Downey said: “The team
have been training hard over the summer ahead of
the swim on 23rd September. It is a first-time attempt
for everyone in the team, so we are all nervous about
what we are going to encounter. However, we are
really looking forward to the satisfaction of walking
up the beach in France and knowing we have done
something extraordinary to help those who can’t help
themselves.”

New general manager for Blake
Postal packaging specialist Blake has promoted Graham Carlin to General
Manager with responsibility for overseeing the day-to-day running of the
business, strengthening internal processes and fostering Blake's 'can-do’
culture.
Graham joined Blake last year from paper merchants Robert Horne, where he was
operations director responsible for more than 500 employees. His first challenge at Blake
was to transform the distribution operation and make the company's warehouse a centre
of excellence. This he succeeded in doing, increasing accuracy pick rates to 100%.
Michael Barter, managing director of Blake, said: “Graham has an ability to develop
and train staff with patient perseverance and an eye for seeing the best in everyone. It
is this skill that justified our decision to make Graham general manager after seeing his
performance in transforming our operations.”
