Game changer for
garment printing
The MagicTouch (TMT) describes
its T.One transfer paper as a game
changer for the image transfer
garment decoration industry.
The ‘One-Step’ coated paper for use
with TMT/OKI white-toner printers enables
the user to print full-colour (including white)
designs to any pastel, white or non-dark garment/textile, including cotton,
polyester, denim, soft-shell, polypongee and most performance fabrics.
For complex, detailed metallic effects, TMT provides foils that can be
applied directly to printed T.One transfers.
T.One complements the existing ‘Two-
Step’ WoW transfer process for black and
dark colour garments/textiles, which require
a higher white opacity.

The new HP DesignJet Z5600 and Z2600
PostScript Printers come with a six-ink
printing system, which includes a chromatic
red ink that enhances the colour gamut and
adds impact to point of purchase (POP) signs
and posters.
Increased uptime
With the launch of e-BRIDGE CloudConnect (ECC), users
of Toshiba TEC MFPs can look forward to greater device
uptime and a reduced management burden.
The secure, cloud-based solution provides device status alerts,
remote diagnostics, remote health checks, automated meter readings
and Just in Time supplies replenishment.
ECC can be configured for any Toshiba e-BRIDGE X or e-BRIDGE
Next MFP and there is no need to install software on users’ servers
or computers.
Toshiba says that operational data is transmitted to the Service
Cloud over a secure HTTPS/SSL connection and can only be viewed
by Toshiba and Approved Business Partners associated with that
actual device.
Carbon-free printing
Elephant Print and Display is now offering Climate Neutral
Printing in association with German-based climate consultancy
ClimatePartner. The East Sussex-based digital print company
calculates the CO2 greenhouse gas emissions of each print job,
which the customer can offset by making a contribution to an
internationally recognised carbon offset project. The one chosen by
Elephant Print and Display is the Kasigau Wildlife Korridor in Kenya.
Managing Director Jason Gadd said: “Climate protection and the
use of renewable energy has become an increasingly important part
of what we do. The cost is generally only about 1% to 2% of the
finished job.” Elephant currently operates two digital presses and
two large format machines, all powered by solar energy from the
company’s 600 Solar PV panels.
Five-year warranties
OKI UK is helping channel partners
increase sales in the public sector
with the introduction of an extended
5-year warranty on selected colour and
multifunction printers. Until the end of
November, all purchases of qualifying
printers by public sector customers will
be covered by a 5 year warranty. As
an incentive to increase order values,
public sector customers will also receive
vouchers of up to £400 towards their
next OKI purchase. Printers covered
include the C911dn, the C831n/dn,
the C841dn and the multifunction
MC562dnw.

Celebrate with HP
HP is celebrating the 25th
anniversary of the first HP
DesignJet inkjet printer by
inviting customers to photograph
themselves and/or their team
demonstrating ‘birthday spirit’
alongside their HP DesignJet
printer. The 25 most original
photos will win a prize! DesignJet
owners can upload their photos
at hp.com/go/myhpdesignjet until
October 25.
The first large-format HP DesignJet
inkjet printer, a monochrome model,
was introduced in 1991 as a faster
alternative to pen plotters for printing
large format technical drawings.
Subsequent colour models opened
new application opportunities, such as
GIS maps. Today, there are more than
3 million DesignJet printers installed
worldwide.
