Commercial Group, the Cheltenham-based
national provider of IT, document and print
management solutions, is upgrading its
service management capability by switching
to the 2serv service management system
from Purpose Software.
The new system will enable Commercial Group
to broaden its MPS offering by providing greater
control of the toner management process and
provide a future-proofed platform to drive further
growth and operational efficiency across the
business.
Steve Harrison, MPS Operations Manager at
the Commercial Group, said: “We are switching to
2serv as it is better suited to meet our business and
workflow process requirements. It will enable us to
automate and centralise more business functions
and provide instant access to real-time data. This
will empower our business teams to enhance
service delivery and profitability.”
Key to making the decision to replace the
organisation’s previous service management
system was the fact that 2serv is tightly integrated
with toner outsourcing suppliers such as Westcoast,
which will help Commercial Group move away from
maintaining costly warehouse stocks.
It will also significantly reduce the administrative
workload, by eliminating the need for the individual
transactions required by the old system, which
could take 3-4 minutes for every order.
Commercial Group is also installing 2roam,
a mobile application that empowers field service
engineers strategically located across the UK
to access and update 2serv using tablets,
smartphones and other mobile devices; and 2web,
which will enable it to create a web portal where
customers can log new service calls, update jobs
and track the progress of outstanding jobs.
Brother UK has been named as Official Shirt
Sponsor of Stalybridge Celtic Football Club.
The National League North club from
Stalybridge, Greater Manchester will wear the
Brother logo on the front of its home and away
kits for the remainder of the 2016/17 season.
The deal is Brother UK’s second partnership
with a football club in recent years, following its
spell as Official Technology Partner of Fulham FC
in 2013/14.
Phil Jones, managing director of Brother UK,
said: “We’re delighted to back Stalybridge Celtic
FC.  I’ve always been impressed by the club and its
heritage which goes back over a century, similar to
our own company.
“It enjoys great local support and does much
within the local community which strongly aligns
with our company ethos. The board are doing
some great work for the club’s future and we’re
pleased to play a small part in that by backing
their plans commercially. We’re looking forward to
the season ahead.”

VOW announces new
training dates
VOW has added extra ‘introduction days’
in September and October where resellers
can find out more about the Records and
Information Management service provided
by Iron Mountain. Available to resellers on
the VOW Venture Programme, the service
empowers organisations to manage
the lifecycle of large volumes of critical
and legacy data, in line with their legal
obligations to store and dispose of data.
National Sales Director Martin Weedall said:
“The introduction days enable resellers to see
how offering the service to their customers can
benefit their business with an additional revenue
stream and added value. It’s a great opportunity
as the introductory days will include a short
presentation, a secure online end-user portal
demonstration, a tour of the facilities and a Q&A
session with the team at Iron Mountain.”
