Technology distributor Exertis has
extended its Samsung print offering to
cover the company's full range of office
automation (OA) products, including its
flagship, enterprise-class MultiXpress 7
(MX7) A3 colour MFP range.
Exertis is now able to provide Samsung's
complete B2B range including A4 and A3 printers,
displays, tablets, professional AV, mobiles and
unified comms products.
As well as supplying Samsung OA products,
Exertis will be offering the office automation
and copier channel a full range of value-add
services including pre-delivery inspection, bespoke
configuration and installs.
Jamie Brothwell, Exertis Print General
Manager, said “Our resellers can now benefit
from a one-stop solution to the complete range
of best-in-class Samsung B2B products.”
The Samsung MX7 MFP range is the only
A3 MFP powered by a Quadcore CPU. It has a
print speed of 60ppm; an industry leading dual
scan speed of up to 240ipm, the equivalent of
four pages per second; a tablet-like Android
interface; and cloud connectivity, which provides
access to documents for editing and printing
when not in the office.
Exertis partners with 350 global technology
brands and over 22,850 resellers and retailers
across Europe. Its turnover in the financial year to
31st March 2015 was £2.4 billion.

Seven up for Lexmark
Lexmark has launched a seven-strong range of smart
A4 colour MFPs featuring a quad-core processor for
fast print/copy speeds and a tablet-like user interface.
The devices are designed to be used with productivity
enhancing solutions like the unified Scan Center app,
which enables users to scan a paper document once
and route the digital file to multiple destinations
simultaneously, including email addresses, network
folders, FTP sites, fax machines, electronic document
archives and other secure network locations, with the
option of delivery confirmation.
The new models are the Lexmark CS720/CS725/
CS820 printers and the Lexmark CX725/CX820/
CX825/CX860 MFPs. Lexmark says high toner
capacities on some models and long-life components
help deliver the best total cost of ownership ever for a
Lexmark colour device.
SPOT to sell Xerox MPS
To help dealers make the most of
opportunities in managed print services, the
Spicers-Office Team Group (SPOT) has signed
a long-term agreement with Xerox to sell the
company's channel MPS offering for the SMB
market.
Spicers is already a Xerox supplies partner in the
UK. It is now also a Xerox Authorised Document
Technology Partner with a specialist team of
dedicated MPS sales executives trained by Xerox.
Donna Marley, Director and General Manager,
Channels Group, Xerox UK, said: “Reselling Xerox’s
industry leading channel-managed print services
offering is a major opportunity for Spicers dealers to
grow their businesses and provide their customers
with all the benefits of MPS, including cost savings
and increased productivity.”
CompTIA Managed
Print Trustmark
Print Audit has received the CompTIA Managed
Print Trustmark, a respected industry credential
that signifies its adherence to best practices
for technology service delivery and customer
interaction. Nancy Hammervik, Senior Vice
President, Industry Relations, CompTIA, said:
“Earning this credential identifies Print Audit
as a business that meets or exceeds the best
business practices the IT industry has to offer.”
Manual processing
creates accountancy
skills shortage
Repetitive manual tasks and inadequate
technology are blighting the working lives
of accountants, according to a study by
BlackLine.
The provider of finance controls and
automation software warns that 'repetitive task
injury' (RTI) is leading to huge staff turnover and a
looming skills shortage in the accounting industry.
Two-thirds (64%) of financial decision-makers
surveyed agree that accountants often leave jobs
because they are not happy with the manual,
repetitive workload; 61% agree that they leave the
profession because they are not given the tools to
do their job effectively.
Recent research from Randstad suggests that
the UK will face a shortfall of 10,200 qualified
accountants by 2050 due to skills shortages, an
ageing workforce and restrictive migration policy.
Mario Spanicciati, BlackLine Chief Strategy
Officer, said: “In order to retain staff and
entice the next generation into the profession,
finance departments need to move away from
outdated manual processes. Investing in the right
technology to streamline manual reporting and
give accountants more time to work strategically
will not only drive staff productivity, but it will also
help businesses attract and retain talent that is
increasingly in short supply.”
In recent tests by Industry Analysts in the US, the
MX7 completed one million printed copies and one
million scans in under a three-month period. Andy
Slawetsky, President of Industry Analysts, said: “The
MX7 is one of the best machines I’ve ever tested
and certainly about the most reliable. The 60ppm
black and white MFP ran tens of thousands of pages
each day with only one unscheduled maintenance
call. It has a massive paper capacity, from both input
and output perspectives, and the scanner speed
is insanely fast. At the same time, the document
handler holds more than the published yield while
the touch screen is world class.”
UK playing digital catch-up
The digital strategies of British businesses lack clarity and direction, warns Fujitsu. More than seven
out of 10 (71%) UK businesses surveyed for a new study view the success of their digital investment
as a gamble, with almost one third (32%) describing their digital strategy as unclear and confused.
The study of digital maturity within West European organisations found that IT decision-makers
lack confidence in their choices. Just one in five (21%) says they are confident advising on digital,
compared to 59% who struggle to know what the right choices are. Almost two thirds (62%) state
that their organisation is playing digital catch-up.
