AND FINALLY
Kevin Condor,
General Manager Sales, NewField IT

What’s currently having the greatest
impact on your business?
The very different needs of partners and
customers in the geographies in which we
operate. It’s important to us that we refine our
offerings to support our partners based on their
local needs.
Where do you see the next big
opportunity?
Analytics. Customers are demanding added
insight related to their document output and
processes. We are fortunately very well placed
to assist with offerings like User Analytics and
Document Analytics, in addition to our custom
BI development offering.
What would make your day job easier?
We’ve seen some fantastic technological
developments that I use daily, for example
collaborative tools that help us get our message
to more customers without the need continually
to travel. Going forward, this will be the area
that benefits us most and facilitates flexible
working.
What’s the best bit of business advice
you’ve been given?
It’s not problems that lose customers, it’s how
well you react when they happen. When you
do react well, you get to keep the customer
relationship for a very long time.
If you had had a crystal ball, would you
have done anything differently?
I wouldn’t change anything; we all make
decisions based on the information we have to
hand at the time. We learn from our mistakes
and that helps make better decisions in the
future.
Describe your most embarrassing
moment.
Appearing on national television for a football
match at Buckingham Palace, holding a pizza-
shaped box (which actually contained a silver
salver) and receiving a huge number of delightful
messages via social media pointing to my
‘physique’ and asking what flavour pizza I had.

What was your first job?
My first job in the industry was selling fax machines whilst on a
working holiday in New Zealand in 1989. Those were the days
when a thermal fax machine cost £1,500. You’ll probably need to
explain what thermal was to your younger subscribers.
What would be your dream job?
I guess I should say this one! Followed very closely by Fighter Pilot.
Money’s not an issue, what’s your perfect car … and
where would you like to drive it?
I’m fortunate to have a wife who runs a high performance hire car
company so I’ve ‘tested’ a few. Unfortunately they don’t have a
Bugatti Veyron. I’d love to give Nurburgring a go.
Fine dining and good wine, or curry and a pint?
Both! But curry & a pint just edges it.
Favourite holiday destination.
A quiet cottage in France or the English countryside with the
family and our dog.
How do you like to spend your spare time?
In the coming months I will be spending a reasonable amount of
my spare time getting ready for the Palace to Palace bike ride in
aid of the Prince’s Trust (and fixing the aforementioned physique).
