PRINT IT RESELLER.UK 13 BULLETIN Lyreco lends helping hand to Children in Need More than 100 volunteers at Lyreco in Donnington Wood, Telford, manned the phones as one of Children in Need’s official call centres during the annual television extravaganza on November 17. This is the 15th year that Lyreco has helped with the fundraising effort which has raised more than £890 million to change the lives of disadvantaged children and young people in the UK. Staff at the National Distribution Centre also pledged their own fundraising support with a workplace fun fair in the lead up to the official event. Peter Hradisky, Managing Director for the UK and Ireland, said Lyreco was hoping for a bumper year in its own fundraising efforts. www.lyreco.com Exertis directors and vendors get on their bikes With the support of its employees, directors and vendors, Exertis’ annual charity cycle ride has raised £21,000 for the Naomi House and Jacksplace charity. Eight directors and participants from NETGEAR and Fujitsu cycled around the Isle of Wight in a single day, covering almost 100 miles and over 6,000 ft. of ascent. Nick Foster, HR Director, put a slight twist to the event by running a very hilly half marathon from Cowes to Ventnor, in two hours 20 minutes. The research revealed that 70% of consumers said that direct mail gives those who receive it a better impression of the organisation, while 87% of people consider marketing mail ‘believable’, compared to just 48% who consider email believable. Direct mail is also seen as more likely to grab the attention of the recipient and be perceived as more secure and important.
