Xeretec now bigger and stronger
Xeretec has announced a strategic merger with Aberdeen-based North
East Reprographics (NER) and Solution X, based in the Highlands - moves
which secures its position as Xerox’s largest Managed Print Service
Provider in the UK and a top five Xerox reseller in Europe.
The merger has increased the Group’s footprint in the UK. In addition to the
extended coverage, the Group will deliver an enhanced helpdesk facility, field-based
dedicated customer service agents and the provision of additional client services.
Mark Duffelen, Director and General Manager, Channels Group, Xerox UK, said:
“Xeretec, NER and Solution X have been three of our pre-eminent specialist Xerox
Managed Print Services Providers for some years. We are delighted that this merger
secures their long term relationship with Xerox. Most importantly, the combined
expertise and commitment of the organisations will bring an even better experience
for all of their customers.”

Wakefield-based Arena Group has helped Lookers
plc streamline their business processes in line with
their rapid growth, increasing their efficiency and
reducing costs.
Despite a challenging economic climate, Lookers plc
has prospered over recent years, rapidly expanding into
new sites across the UK. They needed to update their
business processes in line with this and to set them up
for the future. Chief Accountant, Ian McNair, says: “Our
business systems and processes have had to evolve in line
with our growth and one issue that became clear to us
was a need to enforce more centralised control over print
and copy.”
The group was dealing with a proliferation of
different suppliers and contracts, which made billing very
complex; greater transparency was needed when it came
to budgets, spending and stock. “We had a mixed and
ageing infrastructure of printers and copiers - varying
makes and models with widely differing costs. The fleet
was time consuming to manage and working with a large
number of maintenance providers meant there was no
common service standard,” says McNair.
A document audit and the introduction of a managed
print service achieved a 70% reduction in use of print
machinery and over 30% reduction of print output,
helping to make Lookers more efficient, productive and
sustainable.

in two hours 39 minutes, but also achieved an impressive fundraising target of £40K. The same

Supporting Wiltshire Air Ambulance
Develop Dealer of the Year Office Evolution Ltd has kicked off Air Ambulance week
by donating a copier to Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
Sales Director Steve Davis said: “The service had contacted us about leasing a new machine
but had told us that their budget was tight; we knew they needed every penny to keep flying and
so we took the decision to provide the machine free of charge.”
The machine was delivered installed and hooked up to their system in readiness for a busy
week at air ambulance HQ.
Service Director Matt Goodall said: “We know three people who have been airlifted to
hospital by the service and who owe their lives to this vital service. We’re delighted to support
them with this donation.”
