Canon has refreshed its popular i-SENSYS
range of imaging products with the
launch of eight new devices. Comprising
of two laser multifunctional device
series, an entry-level laser printer and
a high-end laser fax machine, the new
range has evolved in line with customers’
requirements for flexible connectivity,
enhanced document workflows and
convenient usability.
The new i-SENSYS MF4700 and MF4800 series
black and white multifunctional laser devices all
feature network models with Wi-Fi connectivity,
which enables the devices to be easily integrated
into the workspace and shared between users in
the office. Canon’s Network Scan function allows
users to print documents from and scan images
directly to their PC.
Previously exclusive to Canon’s flagship
i-SENSYS MFDs, the new MF4700 and
MF4800 series now also offer one-
touch solution keys that speed
up scanning and copying
workflows. Conveniently
placed on the operation
panel for easy access, the
keys allow users to execute
complex tasks such as
network scanning or duplex
copying with the touch of a
single button.
The refreshed A4 range
has been designed to
enhance the user experience.
The i-SENSYS MF4700 and
MF4800 feature Canon’s
new Quiet Mode enabling
users to operate the device
at a very low noise level
from only 45dB at the touch of a button. All
devices feature a compact and space saving
design and can be easily stored on a desktop,
even where space is at a premium. In addition,
the MF4700 and MF4800 series have been fitted
with a new 5-line LCD tilting panel that can be
adjusted for use on a desktop, ensuring users can
always view the display from an optimum angle.

provides 24/7 access
Lexmark Downtime Reports, the first
printer-based downtime solution
provides enterprises with 24 hours
per day and 7 days a week access to
critical forms and reports, even if their
information systems fail or the network
goes down.
The Lexmark Downtime Reports
application, available through certified
Lexmark dealers provides a cost-effective
alternative to purchasing dedicated PCs
and printers for printing vital documents
during downtime events. The application
stores reports, forms and other important
documents in PDF format on the printer or
MFP encrypted hard drive. Once stored, these
PDF documents are available and updated on
a periodic basis. This enables companies to
access critical documents when a downtime
event occurs.

and information at a moment’s notice,
even during a scheduled or unscheduled
network outage,” said Gary Bourland,

Ireland. “Available on all laser printers and
MFPs, equipped with a hard disk, Lexmark

helping firms deal with the unexpected and

Konica Minolta Business Solutions has
been awarded BLI Awards for its 2012
MFD line-up. BLI awarded Konica Minolta’s
bizhub C654 and bizhub C754 with the
Summer 2012 ‘Pick’ award for Outstanding
A3 Colour MFP in their respective speed
ranges.
The new 9-inch touch pad, info-palette, which
is integrated in Konica’s colour MFPs, received an
award for Outstanding Achievement in Control
Panel Design and the firm’s Unity Document Suite
7 also earned a ‘Pick’ for Outstanding Desktop
Document Imaging Suite.
Canon also picked up a number of Summer
2012 ‘Pick’ Awards. Products across its Business
Imaging portfolio were recognised for outstanding
energy efficiency and performance following BLI’s
rigorous in-depth laboratory tests.
