Whitworth confirmed the meteoric
growth of the company with annual
sales rising to £11 million in just six
years. Following formal presentations
dealers and other guests were treated
to a VIP casino evening and bar at the
prestigious ‘Manchester 235’ venue.
Whitworth stated: “What we have
achieved in just six years is truly remarkable,
carving out a significant position in a mature
market against the background of the worst
economic recession in 80 years. I want to pay
tribute to the DSales team and our dealer
community for their drive and sustained
effort to make this achievement possible. As
the general economy recovers we anticipate
another record trading year coming up.”.
At the event dealers learned that DSales
is now the biggest distributor for Develop
ineo multifunctionals outside of Germany.
The new generation of Develop ineo+ range
colour multifunctional devices (MFD) were
on display with the seven models in the
new range now offering unparalleled speed,
reliability, quality and affordability, whilst
continuing to provide core features such as
network scan, copy and fax functionality.
Award winning new colour range
For its display design, the new Develop MFD
line-up series has recently been awarded the
title of ‘Outstanding Achievement’ by Buyers
Laboratory Inc. Established for more than
45 years, BLI provides independent, reliable
and objective information for the document
imaging industry.
Also at the event, Ethan White,
Advertising Director of
Business Info
presented Jonathan Whitworth with the
magazine’s prestigious ‘Editor’s Choice’
Award. The Award is in recognition of the
innovative ineo+ 224, ineo+ 284 and ineo+
364 mid-range colour multifunctionals in the
new Develop colour multifunctional line-up.
Dealers could see the ineo + range
demonstrated with applications from
Develop’s document management software
(DMS) solutions. These DMS solutions have
been designed specifically by Develop to
work with the ineo range and offer a host
of practical and convenient benefits to SMEs
such as electronic archiving, distribution and
sharing of important documents.
Dual-brand strategy
Develop is a wholly owned subsidiary of
Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe.
David Nuttall, Develop’s UK Country
Manager, confirmed that Konica Minolta
will pursue a dual-brand strategy in Europe
with the Develop brand focused on the
SME business sector. Commenting on the
strategy, David Nuttall said: “The aim of this
reorganisation is to enhance our dual brand
strategy in order to, as a group, expand
business opportunities for both brands.
Scores of synergies are foreseen, while
keeping the Develop brand identity intact.”

received awards at the event in recognition
of achievements in sales and service.

Over 100 business equipment dealers gathered in
Manchester to hear of the continuing success of DSales Ltd,
the UK distributor for the Develop multifunctional range.
